Welcome to the Filipino Nurses Association – Denmark, Faroe Islands & Greenland

Our regional representation was established to support Filipino nurses living and working in Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands. Since 2018, we have been committed to addressing the unique challenges faced by internationally educated nurses (IENs) in these regions. Greenland and the Faroe Islands joined our network in 2020, strengthening our collective voice and advocacy.

Who We Are

We are a registered non-profit organization under the umbrella of the Filipino Nurses Association in the Nordic Region (FiNAN). Our chapter represents Filipino nurses across clinical practice, nursing management, and academia. We work collaboratively to ensure fair integration, professional development, and ethical recruitment practices in line with the WHO Global Code of Practice on the International Recruitment of Health Personnel.

What We Do

• Integration Support: We assist Filipino nurses in navigating local healthcare systems, language requirements, and cultural adaptation.
• Professional Development: Through seminars, mentorship, and continuing education, we help nurses maintain evidence-based competencies, including infection control, ageing care, and leadership.
• Advocacy: We engage with policymakers and healthcare institutions to improve working conditions and uphold nurses' rights.
• Road Back to Nursing Campaign: For nurses in Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands who are not currently registered, we provide guidance and resources to regain professional status.
• Community Engagement: We organize events and forums to foster solidarity and share best practices among Filipino nurses in the Nordic region.
